The first Russian solar power plant in Antarctica

From 2021 to 2025, “Litso Stolits” company (Solar-B Energy brand), together with the Arctic and Antarctic Research Institute, carried out the phased implementation of Russia's first project of an autonomous solar power supply system with a capacity of 40 kW at the Russian Antarctic Progress station. This project has become a practical demonstration of the potential of Russian autonomous energy supply technologies in extreme climatic conditions – at temperatures up to -50 °C and hurricane-force winds.
