In 2018, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin launched the first electric bus route. Since that time, modern transport was used more than 800 million times. In 2025, innovative large-class electric buses of the new generation KAMAZ-52222 were put into operation. The cars have a modern design and equipped with doors with a light indication, which remain outside the cabin when opened. More than 2,600 electric buses run in Moscow today, which is 36.6% of the Mosgortrans SUE. The introduction of electric buses in Moscow is an important step towards reducing the negative impact of transport on the city's ecology. From 2018 to 2024, the replacement of diesel buses with electric buses reduced carbon dioxide emissions by 190 thousand tons.
