Development of a steam turbine generating unit with a capacity of up to 5 MW for a low-power nuclear power plant for the Arctic regions

The Strategy for the development of the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation until 2035, aimed at the sustainable development of the region and strengthening national security, emphasizes the strategic importance of Arctic energy Projects, including Projects of low-power nuclear power plants (ASMM). According to the criteria of reliability, independence from the fuel component and environmental impact, ASMMS are the most attractive energy alternatives. Within this project, layout solutions for a steam turbine installation (PTU) with a capacity of up to 5 MW are presented, which is designed for operation in areas with a seismicity of up to 8 points and a maximum temperature range from minus 65 °C to plus 45 °C.
