Pavel Zavalny, Chairman of the State Duma Energy Committee, greeted the contestants and organizers of the VIII Distributed Power Generation — Great Achievements International Award. In his appeal the expert called the energy decentralization «one of the most important trends in the energy transition in the world today» and wished victory to the contestants and further growth and recognition to the Award.
The appeal, amongst the other things, says:
On behalf of the State Duma Energy Committee, I greet and congratulate you on the eighth year of selection of the brightest and most successful projects implemented in the field of small-scale distributed power generation. Over the years of its existence, the award has won the authority and recognition of the professional community, as evidenced by the expansion of the geography and the number of participants.
Energy decentralization is one of the most important trends in the current world energy transition, transformation from industrial to post-industrial production model, power distribution and consumption. Russia is also starting this path, and every year the share of small-scale and distributed generation is growing, albeit at a slow pace.
Development of distributed energy and its regulatory support is constantly observed by the State Duma Energy Committee and is regularly discussed within the framework of expert events. The first sign in the creation of the legislative framework was the law on microgeneration, which was adopted and has already entered into force.
I am sure that the professionalism and enthusiasm of the companies implementing projects in the field of small and distributed power generation will allow our country to succeed in its development. I wish victory and success in their work to the contestants, and further growth and recognition to the Award!
