Welcome to the webinar dedicated to the X International Award "Small Energy - Great Achievements"

On September 5 at 11.30 Moscow time we invite you to take part in a webinar dedicated to the 10th Anniversary International Award "Small Energy - Great Achievements". Maxim Zagornov, President of the Small Energy Association, and members of the Expert Council from Russia and the UAE will talk about the history of the competition and innovations of this year, as well as the current situation in the small distributed power industry.

We would like to remind you that the call for applications for the 10th anniversary award "Small Energy - Great Achievements" has started. The competition, established by the Small Energy Association with the support of Business Russia, has been held since 2013 and is an authoritative platform for the presentation of advanced projects in the field of small distributed and renewable energy.

This year, taking into account the current realities and new challenges for the industry, the award has undergone a number of changes: the list of nominations has been updated and the composition of the Expert Council has been expanded. It also includes research scientists from China and the United Arab Emirates.

What are the objectives of this year's Prize? What companies and organizations are invited to participate? What in general is happening in the small-scale distributed energy industry in Russia? And what advanced industry projects are being implemented abroad? This and much more will be discussed by the organizers and members of the international expert council of the award:

Maxim Zagornov, President of the Small Energy Association, Chairman of the Small Generation Subcommittee of the Energy Committee of "Business Russia" in the UAE;
Sergey Alekseenko, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Scientific Director of the Institute of Thermophysics of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, laureate of the Global Energy Prize, Professor, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences;
Pavel Ilyushin, Head of the Center "Intelligent Electric Power Systems and Distributed Power Engineering" FGBUN "Institute of Energy Research of RAS", Doctor of Technical Sciences;
Samuel Mao, Director of ASPIRE Research Institute for Sustainable Energy, Co-Chairman of the Climate Network of UAE Universities, Professor of Practice, Khalifa University (UAE).

The Russian Engineering Union will provide official support for the 2024 Award

The Russian Engineering Union will provide official support to the X International Award "Small Energy - Great Achievements". The organization, which unites industrial enterprises and universities in 77 regions of Russia, will take part in the preparation of the contest aimed at identifying the best projects and developments in the field of distributed and renewable energy.

A webinar focused on the 2024 Award featured expert discussions on the state of the small energy industry.

On September 5th, a webinar was held to present the Xth International Award “Distributed Power Generation - Great Achievements” Maxim Zagornov, President of the Distributed Power Generation Association, and members of the Award’s Expert Council discussed the contest’s history, this year’s innovations, and the current state of the distributed energy sector. Samuel Mao, Director of the ASPIRE Research Institute for Sustainable Energy, co-chair of the UAE University Climate Network, and Professor at Khalifa University, has logged in the webinar studio too. This year, Professor Mao has joined the Award’s Expert Council.

Leading UAE scientist Mr. Samuel Mao joins the 2024 Prize Expert Council

The Expert Council of the X-th International Award «DISTRIBUTED POWER GENERATION – GREAT ACHIEVEMENTS» included the Director of the ASPIRE Sustainable Energy Research Institute, Co-Chairman of the UAE Universities Climate Network, Professor of Khalifa University Samuel Mao. The author of ten national patents for inventions, the winner of the prestigious technology award «R&D 100», Dr. Samuel Mao expressed hope that the Russian contest will bring to light the advanced projects and it will serve a cause for developing renewable energy in the world.
