Applications for the XI International Award «Distributed Power Generation – Great Achievements» will be accepted starting May 27. This year, for the first time, the prestigious independent industry award will be presented in seven nominations, and the International Expert Council will be supplemented with new names. The primary goal of the contest – organized by the Distributed Power Generation Association and Business Russia – remains unchanged: to identify the best industry projects of the year, create a unified platform for the exchange of expertise, and strengthen the capacity of the country’s scientific and engineering community.
The International Award «Distributed Power Generation – Great Achievements», established in 2013, is currently the leading platform for recognizing excellence in one of the most dynamic sectors — distributed power generation and renewable energy. The award is organized by the Distributed Power Generation Association, and co-organized by the All-Russian Public Organization «Business Russia»..
This year, for the first time, the independent industry award will be presented in seven categories:
- «The best project in the field of small distributed power generation up to 5 MW»;
- «The best project in the field of small distributed power generation with a capacity of more than 5 MW»;
- «Best Renewable Energy, Storage and Electric Transportation Project»;
- «Domestic development in the field of small-scale distributed energy»;
- «Investor of the Year in the field of small-scale distributed energy»;
- «Research and development in the field of small distributed energy»;
- «Best information project in the field of small distributed energy».
Companies and organizations located in Russia and friendly countries, carrying out their activities in the field of distributed power generation and renewable energy, as well as research institutes and organizations conducting applied research and development in this field are invited to participate in the award.
For the first time in the history of the Award, a seventh nomination was established for information projects and events covering key topics of distributed power generation and renewable energy. Journalistic materials, blogs, telegram channels, webinars, conferences and other initiatives popularizing the industry in Russia and abroad can participate in this category.
The submitted project must be implemented between 2024 and 2025. Participation in the award is free of charge.
Winners will be selected through an independent vote by the members of the International Expert Council — which has been expanded this year. The International Expert Council comprises leading experts and analysts in distributed power generation, representatives of the business community, senior managers of major energy companies, and prominent Russian and international scientists.

Over the past 11 years, 672 companies and organizations from 12 countries have participated in the competition, with 43 winners receiving the prestigious Golden Lightning statuette.
Online acceptance of applications for the XI International Award «Distributed power generation – great achievements» has started on the website https://energo-union.com/en and will last until November 1.
