For the first time, Yuchai company, the world’s leading manufacturer of gas-piston generator sets became the general partner of the International Award “Distributed Power Generation – Great Achievements” - an independent industry award, established by the Distributed Power Generation Association supported by ‘’Business Russia’’. This significant event marks a new stage in strengthening the technological partnership between Russia and China in the distributed generation sector.
Yuchai’s participation as the general partner of the award highlights the company's commitment to supporting innovation and sharing best practices in energy efficiency. Today, when the issue of reliable, affordable and environmentally friendly energy supply is particularly acute, an expert dialogue between Russian and Chinese specialists is becoming increasingly relevant and necessary.
Yuchai company, established in 1951, represents high tech gas-piston generator sets (GPUs) with a capacity of 30 kW to 2 MW on the Russian Market. The company’s equipment is adapted to operate on various types of fuel, including natural gas, biogas, mine methane, and metallurgical tail gases, which opens up broad opportunities for implementing projects in the oil and gas sector, mining industry, and agro-industrial complex.
The flagship YC16VCN series with a capacity of 2 MW demonstrates an electrical efficiency of over 40%, which meets the highest global standards. The lean-burn and high-energy ignition technologies used in Yuchai engines ensure complete fuel combustion and clean exhaust emissions, which are crucial for meeting environmental regulations.
Yuchai’s equipment is already successfully used all over the world – from Central Europe to Central Asia and Africa. Under intensive operation conditions, the units demonstrate reliability: the engine oil change period reaches 2,000 hours, and the overhaul period is more than 64,000 hours.
An important step in strengthening the dialogue was the inclusion of Zhong Tian Cheng, Sales Director of Gas Piston Engines at Yuchai Power's North European Sales Department, in the Expert Council of the award. His participation will enhance international expertise in the evaluation of the best small-scale energy projects and strengthen professional cooperation between experts from both countries.

The applications for the XII International Award “Distributed Power Generation – Great Achievements” are currently still being accepted till October 30rd on the project’s website https://energo-union.com/ru/award/. The results will be summed up and the winners will be awarded at the end of December in Moscow, at the site of the All-Russian Public Organization ‘’Business Russia’’.
