On October 26th the Subcommittee on Distributed Power Generation of Business Russia and Distributed Power Generation Association will lead the project conference «Own power generation at the enterprise: innovative engineering solutions of leading engineering companies». The event will be held within the business program of the 6th International specialized exhibition HEAT&POWER in Moscow. The representatives of leading Russian companies and industry organizations will participate in the conference. Online broadcasting of the event will be available on the website of Distributed Power Generation Association.
The last two years were challenging for many sectors of the industry, the turbulence of the world economy influenced the plans and strategies of the companies, made them invest more intently. However, the crisis is not only challenges but new opportunities as well. The confirmation of this fact can be the situation on the market of distributed power generation that performed the unprecedented growth. The own generation has become an objective instrument of economy for hundreds of Russian enterprises.
Besides, the world trend to decentralization of the generating capacity has been developing for several years. Many industrial enterprises either have built the own power generation or are seeing into the possible variants of its commissioning. This is connected to many factors: development of new technologies and equipment, new profitable financial instruments for the implementation of such projects, notable gas depreciation, tightening of the environmental protection policy. Further development of the GNC technologies that allow to provide the objects of distributed power generation in remote regions with fuel became one more driver for the implementation of power generation projects.
While on the subject of power supply of isolated and remote territories it is worth to mention the development of so-called hybrid energy complexes consisted of primary power source (gas generation on GTU or CHP basis, serving CNGs) and alternative power sources such as solar panels, wind turbines and energy storage systems. Different variants of the combination of the sources are defined by the certain requirements and external conditions of consumers. Scheme of power distribution from such energy complexes is setting according to the existing generation schedule on the most advantageous mode.
The significant effectiveness can be reached by several power resources depletion using one initial fuel which is natural gas. The trend to energy complexes that can produce electricity, warmth (hot water and steam), cold and CO2. This combination will allow to receive maxim quantity of gas that will ensure high commercial efficiency of the project. This kind of project is interesting from the point of view of the application of the modern intelligent control system of the production and energy sources allocation. Power distribution at the customer’s site, CO2 collection and recovery allow to reduce carbon footprint from thermal gas power plant, that reduce the influence on the environment.
What are the prospects for the development of distributed power generation in the new realities? What innovative technical solutions are offered on the market by leading engineering companies? What modern financial instruments for the implementation of such projects are considered to be the most effective? Within the project conference organized by Distributed Power Generation Association, the representatives of leading Russian companies will talk about current engineering research, results, and prospective project.
