An exhibition of kinetic objects by a mechanical engineer Nikolai Panafidin will be opened within the frames of the Solemn ceremony of the VIII Distributed Power Generation — Great Achievements International Award. The Art of Energy exposition comprises 7 objects and will become a sort of a present for the participants of the Award-2020.
The Art of Energy exhibition of kinetic objects by Nikolai Panafidin, a mechanical engineer from Chelyabinsk, occasioned with the Solemn ceremony of the VIII Distributed Power Generation — Great Achievements International Award comprises 7 unique objects. All the works belong to a rare branch of the modern art, kinetic art, which is based on the principles of real movement.
The history of kinetic art began in the 20-30s years of the last century. It was first represented as just separate elements of the constructivists’ art objects, but in 1960s turned into a self-sufficient art movement. Today, kinetic art comprises several branches. The objects created by Nikolai Panafidin can be defined as metamechanics — permanently moving fantastic machines and constructions.
Energy Pump, Light Inertioid, Mirror-World, Butterfly, Cubic Balance, Three Degrees of Freedom — these objects will be for the first time presented not on a museum, but on the business platform within the frames of the VIII Distributed Power Generation — Great Achievements International Award.

Another, one of the most mystical, object by Nikolai Panafidin, Plato’s sphere, will be as well presented in the reception area of the Congress Hall of the Chamber of Commerce and industry of the RF. This sculpture created 5 years ago is an exact visual representation of the atomic structure of the coronavirus envelope and a sort of a harbinger of the 2020 events.
It should be noted that Nikolai Panafidin’s sculptures were used in the legendary Snow Show by Slava Polunin and in Olga Pona’s modern dance theater. The object created by the mechanical engineer have been presented in Chelyabinsk, Surgut, Khanty-Mansiysk, Munster (Germany). Currently, an object by Nikolai Panafidin is being presented in A Beautiful Night for All the People 2nd triennial of Russian contemporary art in the contemporary art museum Garage, Moscow.
The Energy of Art exhibition of kinetic objects by Nikolai Panafidin will be held in the Congress Hall of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the RF on December, 11, from 13:30 till 19:00, and will available only to the participants of the VIII Distributed Power Generation — Great Achievements International Award.
