The MKC Group of Companies, one of the leading engineering enterprises in Russia, has become the General Partner of the 10th Anniversary International Award «Distributed Power Generation - Great Achievements». It is noteworthy that the company has supported this industry contest project for the past 10 years and has been one of its co-organizers.
The MKС Group of Companies, which will celebrate its 20th anniversary in April 2025, was at the forefront of the formation of the distributed energy sector in Russia. Today, it is among the strongest engineering enterprises in the country engaged in the construction of autonomous energy facilities «turnkey»: the company designs, builds, and operates gas-piston power plants. Over the past 20 years, it has commissioned more than 60 mini-CHPs with a total capacity of 350 MW.
To improve quality and reduce project implementation times, the MKS Group of Companies has launched its own production of auxiliary energy equipment and has also mastered the production of energy complexes in block-module design. In 2019, the MKS Group of Companies became the first in Russia to develop and put into operation a two-story block-module power plant based on the largest gas-piston engines (4.5 MW). In recent years, considering market demands and its own desire to expand business horizons, the company has supplemented its key product line with projects in hydrogen energy, energy storage systems, methanol and CO2 production, and others, bringing together leading scientists, engineers, and innovators from Russia and abroad, thereby securing its status as an industrial corporation of federal level.
Since 2010, the MKС Group of Companies has been a member of the Distributed Power Generation Association and is working collaboratively to shape the distributed energy sector in the country. The group actively participates in developing common regulations for the construction of its own generation facilities, interacts with government authorities and industry associations, and facilitates the entry of Association companies into friendly international markets.
The MKС Group of Companies actively supports all public projects of the Distributed Power Generation Association, including the International Award «Distributed Power Generation – Great Achievements». Since 2013, it has been a permanent General Partner of the contest, recognizing the importance of this initiative: by disseminating the best industry practices and accumulating the most advanced Russian and international experience, the competition contributes to the development of the distributed energy sector and enhances the level of engineering in the country.
This year, the X International Prize «Distributed Power Generation – Great Achievements» has set a high benchmark: the organizing committee of the competition received 72 applications from Russia and the UAE. This reflects the growing prestige of the prize within the industry community and the demand for this competition project. For 10 years, the prize has served as an authoritative platform for presenting the strongest industry projects of the year, the best technological solutions, and innovative developments. The results of the 2024 Award will be announced on December 13 at the event at the headquarters of Business Russia (Moscow).
