This year for the first time XI International Award “Distributed Power Generation - Great Achievements” will be presented in seven categories : “The best project in the field of small distributed power generation up to 5 MW”; “ The best project in the field of small distributed power generation with a capacity of more than 5 MW ”; “Best Renewable Energy, Storage and Electric Transportation Project”; “Domestic development in the field of small-scale distributed energy”; “Investor of the Year in the field of small-scale distributed energy”; “Research and development in the field of small distributed energy “; “Best information project in the field of small distributed energy “.
From May 28th till November 15th organizing committee received 65 applications from 16 regions of Russia. The geography of the contestants was wide once again: companies from Moscow, St. Petersburg, Ekaterinburg, Ufa, Chelyabinsk, Kaluga, Yaroslavl, Syktyvkar, Irkutsk, Krasnoyarsk, Rostov-on-Don, Samara, Solnechnogorsk, Kamensk and other cities are among the participants.
The geography of the implemented projects covers the most remote territories of the country – from Antarctica, Chukotka and Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk to the Republic of Adygea, Kabardino-Balkar Republic, Krasnodar, Bashkortostan, Tambov, Smolensk, Kopeysk and other regions.
“Russian distributed energy industry is showing steady and outstripping growth even under the circumstances of external restrictions. Its total capacity has reached 40 GW this year, and the pace of commissioning of small-scale generation is ten times higher than that of centralized energy. Todays 2025 Award applications showed that the industry is already relying on its own technological base, actively implementing import substitution programs and confidently meeting the needs of industry and territories. Small—scale generation facilities are being built all over the country, from Adygea and Kuban to Chukotka and Antarctica, and the development of distributed energy is stimulating the growth of domestic engineering, expanding engineering competencies and creating new working spots. As a result, small-scale energy is becoming one of the key growth points of the Russian economy”, — the president of Distributed Power Generation Association, Chairman of the Subcommittee on Small Generation of "Business Russia" Maxim Zagornov noted.
54 projects were included in the XI International Award “Distributed Power Generation - Great Achievements” short-list. Among the finalists are generation facilities for industry, infrastructure and isolated territories, domestic developments, as well as research initiatives in the field of small distributed energy.

Significant applications have been received in 1st nomination this year. Thus, TSK “Volgaenergoprom” presented a gas-piston power plant with a capacity of 1.4 MW for the Alekseevskaya NPP in the Volgograd region. "MNPO "Energospetstechnika" JSC announced “ENERGO-KA”, an autonomous hybrid complex, built on the Teschin Yazik pass in the Republic of Bashkortostan in the conditions of complete isolation. And the Chelyabinsk Electric Equipment Plant presented a 255 kW diesel power plant for a gold mining field in Chukotka, an object operating in extremely harsh climatic conditions. Energy facilities implemented in remote regions were also presented by “Rolt Engineering”. The company announced a 600 kW power center at domestic gas piston installations in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk.
Major projects were also announced in 2nd nomination: “Valdex Energy” presented a 12.9 MW gas piston power center for the Sukhonsky KBK in the Vologda Region; and “Gidroproekt Institute” presented the construction of the Verkhnebaksanskaya HPP with a capacity of 24.7 MW, the first hydropower facility in the Elbrus district of the Kabardino—Balkarian Republic.
Traditionally, a tough battle unfolded in the 3 nomination "The best project in the field of renewable energy, storage devices and electric transport". “Litso Stolits” company presented the first Russian solar power plant in Antarctica, implemented at the “Progress” station. “RusHydro” PJSC submitted an automated hybrid energy complex in the village of Novikova on Sakhalin, where a hydrogen landfill is being created. “Geothermo” company presented “Technonicol” geothermal “Green office” in Ryazan. And CJSC “Korenovsky Dairy and Canning Plant” presented a 200 kW solar power plant in Krasnodar — the facility is located at an enterprise known throughout Russia for "Korovka from Korenovka" ice cream.
In the field of electric transport Mosgortrans SUE announced a project: updated high-class electric buses of the new generation, reflecting Moscow's course towards the large-scale development of environmentally friendly urban transport.
This year, the largest number of applications was again received in 4th nomination — “Domestic development in the field of small distributed energy”. Thus, “RODWIG” company submitted the first Russian 1.5 MW gas piston engine as an alternative to foreign analogues. DVS ENERGIYA company presented a gas piston power plant based on a YAMZ engine with fully domestic software. Kaluga Turbine Plant has submitted the development of a steam turbine generating unit with a capacity of up to 5 MW for low-power nuclear power plants in the Arctic regions. “Valdex Energy” company presented DELTA 4.4-M selective catalytic reduction system for greenhouse complexes. From “DVS Resource” company — the “Diadem” management and monitoring system. And “GT Energo” subitted a unified digital control system for the operation of power units, implemented at the company's facilities in 15 regions of Russia.
The least amount of applications were received in the 5th nomination. For the title of "Investor of the Year in the field of small distributed energy" will compete GT Energy JSC, which presented a program for the modernization of heat supply in the Velsky district of the Arkhangelsk region, and Energovector LLC with the “Future Energy” project for “Sigma” enterprise in Kopeisk.
6th nomination — "Research development in the field of small distributed energy" — was represented by the country's leading scientific centers work. Thus, L.A. Melentiev Institute of Energy Systems SB RAS announced the technology of multi-stage gasification of wood waste; from Lomonosov Moscow State University - land-based and sea-based sailing power plants; from NRU "MEI" - the solar-diesel complex management system; from UrFU — a study of the effectiveness of facade solar power plants for megacities. “RusHydro” has submitted two projects: a hydrogen storage technology for AGEK in Novikovo and an intelligent microgrid with inverters operating in the virtual synchronous machine mode.
