Alexey Repik, Chairman of the All Russia public organization Business Russia greeted contestants and sponsors of The VIII Distributed Power Generation — Great Achievements International Award. Distributed generation technologies «are among the most effective tools for reducing the cost of electricity and heat. Under the present-day conditions, these issues are more relevant for business than ever», said Alexey Repik, Chairman of the All Russia public organization Business Russia in his appeal.

The appeal, amongst the other things, says:

This year the competition is being held for the eighth time. This testifies not only about recognition of the award as an authoritative industry reward, but also to the fact that the Distributed Power Generation is developing.

And it is understandable. Today we are in a bad need of the modern energy system, which will be based on innovative developments and advanced scientific achievements, as well as usage of alternative sources of energy, including renewable ones.

For the few years, the Award has allowed us to discover the best technological solutions in the field of distributed power generation, which are among the most effective tools for reducing the cost of electricity and heat energy, increasing energy efficiency and saving energy in production processes. Under present-day conditions, these issues are more relevant for business than ever.

I am convinced that the competition will continue to promote the development of the distributed power generation in Russia and abroad. I wish all participants and experts success and interesting and fruitful work.

Distributed Power Generation — Great Achievements International Award is an authoritative industry award that is given for the best implemented projects in the field of distributed and alternative energy. Established in 2013 by the Distributed Power Generation Association; officially supported by the State Duma Energy Committee, the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation, and the Business Russia association since 2014. This year, applications for the VIII Distributed Power Generation — Great Achievements International Award will be accepted until October, 17. The solemn ceremony of awarding the winners will take place on December, 11 in Moscow, at the congress center of the RF Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

60 Projects from Russia and the UAE Make the 2024 Shortlist

The shortlist for the X International Award «DISTRIBUTED POWER GENERATION – GREAT ACHIEVEMENTS» has been announced, featuring 60 projects from two countries. Among the nominees are companies and organizations from Russia and the United Arab Emirates. A total of 72 competitors vied for the main prize of the competition—the «Golden Lightning» statuette. Following preliminary selection results, the organizing committee has compiled the shortlist for the 2024 Award. This week, members of the International Expert Council will begin reviewing the projects. The names of the winners will be announced on December 13 in Moscow.

"Small energy industry strives for great achievements": an interview with Maxim Zagornov

The International Award "Small Energy - Great Achievements" is held for the tenth time this year. Today it is the main industry award for the best implemented projects in the field of distributed and renewable energy. Maxim Zagornov, President of the Association of Small-scale Power Generation, told the editor-in-chief of Energy and Industry of Russia about the main trends and prospects of distributed generation in Russia, how the award is changing taking into account the current realities and new challenges for the industry.

In a letter to the Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation, the Association of Small-Scale Power Industry made proposals for the development of energy capacities in the Far East

Following the Ninth Eastern Economic Forum, the President of Russia instructed the Government, together with the business community, to prepare a long-term program for the development of energy capacities in the Far East and to provide for project financing mechanisms. The Small Energy Association made its proposals, which were reflected in a letter to Mikhail Mishustin, Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation.
