Call for papers for the VIII Distributed Power Generation — Great Achievements International Award is in progress

Call for papers for the VIII Distributed Power Generation — Great Achievements International Award is in progress. The award established by the Distributed Power Generation Association and supported by Business Russia Community, the Energy Committee of the State Duma of the Russian Federation and the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation, has been held since 2013. Today it is a unique platform for presenting advanced distributed and alternative energy projects. This year the presentation of the main award of the contest — Golden Lightning statuettes — will take place in Moscow, on December, 10.

This year there will be 6 Award nominations:

  • The Best Distributed Power Project up to 6 MW;
  • The Best Distributed Power Project over 5 MW;
  • The Best Alternative Energy Project;
  • Innovative solution in Power Industry;
  • Power Industry Investor of the Year;
  • For a Contribution to the Development of the Industry.

The winners will be chosen by the competent jury which includes outstanding Russian scientists, representatives of federal and regional government bodies, heads of leading energy companies and organizations of the country, rectors of specialized universities, editors-in-chief of key industry media.

This year Award stands out from the previous editions as we have launched the electronic applications collection system on our renewed web-site https://energo-union.com/en/award. By today we have received over 20 applications for the Award from different companies and organizations of the country. Call for paper on the project web-site will last till October, 17.

This year the official VIII Distributed Power Generation — Great Achievements International Award ceremony will be held in the All-Russia Public Organization Business Russia’s headquarters (Moscow, Delegatskaya St., 7) on December, 10. The winners in 6 nominations will be awarded with diplomas and Golden Lightning statuettes made by Zlatoust craftsmen.

As Maksim Zagornov, President of the Distributed Power Generation Association and Chairman of the Business Russia Power Generation Subcommittee, noticed, one of the main objectives of this year award is to identify the best industry projects, to encourage all those who in a difficult economic situation continued to develop the small-scale distributed power industry.

«I am sure that the VIII Distributed Power Generation — Great Achievements International Award will help to identify the strongest projects, the best anti-crisis practices, adequately encourage all those who, despite the situation, continued to provide the country's enterprises with affordable energy resources, developed the distributed power industry in Russia and abroad», — said Maksim Zagornov in his welcome address.

It should be noted that over seven years more than 500 companies and persons took part in the competition, 30 of them became winners. To date, the International Distributed Power Generation — Great Achievements International Award has secured the status of one of the most dynamically developing industry contest projects.

60 Projects from Russia and the UAE Make the 2024 Shortlist

The shortlist for the X International Award «DISTRIBUTED POWER GENERATION – GREAT ACHIEVEMENTS» has been announced, featuring 60 projects from two countries. Among the nominees are companies and organizations from Russia and the United Arab Emirates. A total of 72 competitors vied for the main prize of the competition—the «Golden Lightning» statuette. Following preliminary selection results, the organizing committee has compiled the shortlist for the 2024 Award. This week, members of the International Expert Council will begin reviewing the projects. The names of the winners will be announced on December 13 in Moscow.

"Small energy industry strives for great achievements": an interview with Maxim Zagornov

The International Award "Small Energy - Great Achievements" is held for the tenth time this year. Today it is the main industry award for the best implemented projects in the field of distributed and renewable energy. In a letter to the Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation, the Association of Small-Scale Power Industry made proposals for the development of energy capacities in the Far East

Following the Ninth Eastern Economic Forum, the President of Russia instructed the Government, together with the business community, to prepare a long-term program for the development of energy capacities in the Far East and to provide for project financing mechanisms. The Small Energy Association made its proposals, which were reflected in a letter to Mikhail Mishustin, Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation.
