INNIO: the General Partner of the Distributed Power Generation – Great Achievements International Award

INNIO, a leading supplier of solutions for gas piston engines, power equipment, digital platforms and accompanying services for power production, has become the General Partner of the VIII Distributed Power Generation – Great Achievements International Award.

INNIO is a leading supplier of solutions for gas piston engines, power equipment, digital platforms and accompanying services for power production and gas compression at the application site or in its proximity. The company presents two product lines, Jenbacher and Waukesha, allowing to offer a wide range of reliable, efficient and stable industrial gas piston engines with capacity of 200 kW to 10 MW which can be applied for various industries and any part of the world.

INNIO is a pioneer of the power generation industry and a successful developer of digital solutions, which has allowed it to create 64 GW of the set capacity and install 52000 engines on the clients’ enterprises in more than 100 countries of the world. The company is headquartered in Jenbach, Austria; the other engineering and production facilities are located in Welland, Ontario, Canada, and Waukesha, Wisconsin, the USA.

By today, over 1000 units of 2GW total power capacity have been installed at various facilities and industries in Russia.

Jenbacher gas gensets are a highly efficient equipment of 45% electric efficiency. Both Jenbacher and Waukesha product lines can be applied for cogeneration solutions as they actively transform primary gas fuel energy into electric power and heat. The total efficiency cogeneration mode operation can exceed 90%.

One of the major features of INNIO’s gas engines is their environmental friendliness and flexibility of operation. About 45% of electric power produced by Jenbacher equipment is produced by means of renewable non-natural gas, such as biogas, sewage gas or landfill gas. Application of accompanying petroleum gas allows to supply power to remote oil fields in severe climate conditions.

The representative office of INNIO in Russia has been supporting the Distributed Power Generation – Great Achievements International Award for two years. Projects based on Jenbacher and Waukesha gas engines has been winning the awards in various nominations for three years in a row.

60 Projects from Russia and the UAE Make the 2024 Shortlist

The shortlist for the X International Award «DISTRIBUTED POWER GENERATION – GREAT ACHIEVEMENTS» has been announced, featuring 60 projects from two countries. Among the nominees are companies and organizations from Russia and the United Arab Emirates. A total of 72 competitors vied for the main prize of the competition—the «Golden Lightning» statuette. Following preliminary selection results, the organizing committee has compiled the shortlist for the 2024 Award. This week, members of the International Expert Council will begin reviewing the projects. The names of the winners will be announced on December 13 in Moscow.

"Small energy industry strives for great achievements": an interview with Maxim Zagornov

The International Award "Small Energy - Great Achievements" is held for the tenth time this year. Today it is the main industry award for the best implemented projects in the field of distributed and renewable energy. Maxim Zagornov, President of the Association of Small-scale Power Generation, told the editor-in-chief of Energy and Industry of Russia about the main trends and prospects of distributed generation in Russia, how the award is changing taking into account the current realities and new challenges for the industry.

In a letter to the Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation, the Association of Small-Scale Power Industry made proposals for the development of energy capacities in the Far East

Following the Ninth Eastern Economic Forum, the President of Russia instructed the Government, together with the business community, to prepare a long-term program for the development of energy capacities in the Far East and to provide for project financing mechanisms. The Small Energy Association made its proposals, which were reflected in a letter to Mikhail Mishustin, Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation.
