For the first time in its 9-year history, the International Award Distributed Power Generation — Great Achievements will be held in a new, experimental format. This year, in order to intensify international cooperation, only foreign companies will be invited to participate in the prestigious industry competition; and the winners will be announced in October in Dubai on the sidelines of the 23rd International Exhibition on Water Management and Treatment, Energy Production and Environmental Protection WETEX-2021, the first industry exhibition at EXPO-2020.
The International Award Distributed Power Generation — Great Achievements has been awarded since 2013 and today it is an authoritative platform for the presentation of advanced projects in the field of distributed power generation and alternative energy. The competition is organized by the Distributed Power Generation Association, the co-organizer is the All-Russian Public Organization Business Russia. The project is officially supported by the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation and the State Duma Committee on Energy.
This year, the IX International Award Power Generation — Great Achievements will be held for the first time in an experimental format. Only foreign participants — exhibitors of the 23rd International Exhibition on Water Management and Treatment, Energy Production and Environmental Protection WETEX-2021 — will be invited to participate in the competition. This year, the number has reached a record high-more than 2,500 exhibitors from 55 countries, including the United Arab Emirates, Germany, Sweden, Egypt, Japan, the United States of America, Italy, Iran, China, Poland, etc.
It should be noted that today WETEX is one of the most authoritative energy-specialized exhibitions in the world. It is annually held under the patronage of the Prime Minister of the UAE, Ruler of Dubai HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. WETEX is organized by Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA). This year, WETEX will be held for the first time at the EXPO-2020 site, becoming the first industry project of the World Exhibition.
At WETEX-2021 it will be covered the topical issues of the future of the energy sector, the development and implementation of modern technologies, energy conservation, saving natural resources, environmental protection, waste management, and reducing the carbon footprint. Traditionally, the Dubai Solar Show will also be held within the framework of WETEX. This exhibition unites the largest solar energy companies and organizations from around the world, demonstrating the best industry projects of the year.

The three best industry projects presented at the 23rd International Exhibition on Water Management and Treatment, Energy Production and Environmental Protection WETEX-2021 will be rewarded with a prestigious award from Russia — the International Award Power Generation — Great Achievements. The winners will receive statuettes Golden Lightning made by Zlatoust masters from precious metals and Ural stone. The Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) will provide consulting support for this year's Award.
For reference: The International Award Power Generation — Great Achievements is an authoritative industry award that is awarded for the best implemented projects in the field of distributed power generation and alternative energy. It was established in 2013 by the Distributed Power Generation Association, since 2014 the project has been officially supported by the State Duma Committee on Energy, the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation, the business association Business Russia. For 8 years, about 600 companies and organizations from 12 countries took part in the competition. 37 companies and persons became the owners of the main award — the Golden Lightning statuette.
