Sergei Alekseenko, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, winner of the Global Energy Award, greeted the contestants and organizers of the VIII Distributed Power Generation — Great Achievements International Award. In his appeal the scientist noted, that «the issue of development of distributed power generation, in fact, is of a strategic nature, and the future of our country depends on it».
The appeal, amongst the other things, says:
For the eighth time, the main award of the annual industry competition, the Golden Lightning statuette, will be presented. And this is the most brilliant proof that the distributed power generation field has great perspectives. The centralized energy is a big achievement of Russia for sure. But given the fact that there are many remote regions in the country not provided with energy, the issue of using decentralized, distributed generation technologies including those based on renewable energy sources, is especially acute.
Today it has become obvious that the issue of development of distributed power generation, in fact, is of strategic nature, and future of our country depends largely on it. Recently, within the frames of implementation of the Strategy of scientific and technological development of the Russian Federation, The Council for the Energy priority recommended to shape the Distributed Power Energy Integrated Scientific and Technical Program (ISTP). There are three threads included in it: (1) Advanced electrochemical technologies; (2) Advanced renewable energy technologies; (3) Import-substituting digital technologies and power electronics. Thus, the relevance of the development of small-scale energy is emphasized.
I am sure, that the projects presented within the VIII Distributed Power Generation — Great Achievements International Award will help to discover the most advanced technologies in solar and wind energy field, will give a powerful impetus to the development of new energy sources, their active integration into the existing energy system, will help to attract investments into this area.
Let the VIII Distributed Power Generation — Great Achievements International Award once again become a constructive platform for the presentation of the strongest projects of the year, for dialogue and exchange of experience, for consolidating common efforts in the development of the distributed power energy in the country.
I wish good luck to the contestants and organizers of the Award!
Please note that Sergei Alekseenko sent his greeting appeal during the XXXVI Siberian Thermophysical Seminar dedicated to the 70th birthday of the scientist. Within the seminar, the academician made a report on State Policy and Innovative Development of the Country; he noted the important role of the distributed power generation and said that «the global decarbonation of energy is inevitable».
Distributed Power Generation — Great Achievements International Award is an authoritative industry award that is given for the best implemented projects in the field of distributed and alternative energy. Established in 2013 by the Distributed Power Generation Association; officially supported by the State Duma Energy Committee, the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation, and the Business Russia association since 2014. This year, applications for the VIII Distributed Power Generation — Great Achievements International Award will be accepted until October, 17. The solemn ceremony of awarding the winners will take place on December, 10, in Moscow, at the headquarters of the All-Russia Public Organization Business Russia.
