On August 21, the 50th anniversary was celebrated by the Head of the Center for Intellectual Electric Power Systems and Distributed Power Generation of the Energy Research Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the Head of CIGRE C6 National Research Committee, the Vice President of the Distributed Power Generation Association, Doctor of Technical Sciences Pavel Ilyushin. The author and co–author of a dozen of published scientific works and inventions, the speaker at Russian and international conferences, the winner of Distributed Power Generation — Great Achievements International Award, Pavel is justly considered as one of the founders of the distributed power generation industry in Russia and is still full of professional plans and scientific ideas.
More than 30 years of the anniversary celebrant's life have been connected to the fuel and energy complex of Russia. Pavel Ilyushin has worked his professional way up from an Electrician for the relay protection equipment and automation repairs at Ust-Kamenogorsk CHP to senior positions at leading energy enterprises and organizations of the country (Moscow United Electric Grid Company, OJSC, Interregional Distribution Grid Companies Holding, OJSC, Inspection for technical condition of the electric power facilities control, JSC.
From 2017 to 2020, he has worked as a Vice-rector for research at the St. Petersburg Energy Institute of Advanced Training of the Ministry of Energy of Russia. Since 2020, he has become the Head of the Center for Intellectual Electric Power Systems and Distributed Power Generation, the Chief Researcher at the Institute for Energy Research Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
The main scientific research activities of Pavel Ilyushin are related to the problematic issues of integration of generating units of distributed generation facilities into distribution networks and internal power supply networks of industrial enterprises. The scientist pays special attention to the organization of emergency and regime management to ensure reliable power supply to consumers.
Many years of research activities of Pavel Ilyushin have resulted in the publication of more than 150 scientific articles and three monographs, which have become a notable event in the distributed power generation industry of Russia, receiving numerous positive reviews not only from the leading scientists, but also from the practitioners – the representatives of engineering companies of the country. In addition, over the years, Pavel Ilyushin have been granted 14 patents for inventions, which has become another proof of the fact that all the scientist's works are purely applied research.
Despite the serious scientific workload, Pavel Ilyushin always finds the time and energy for a variety of educational and public works: he speaks at Russian and international research-to-practice conferences; he is the Head of CIGRE C6 National Research Committee for Active Electrical Power Distribution Systems and Distributed Energy Resources; the Presidium member of the Scientific and Technical Board, the Chairman of the Active Electrical Power Distribution Systems and Distributed Energy Resources section of the Scientific and Technical Council of the Unified Energy System; the Vice President for Science of the Distributed Power Generation Association, and many more. Pavel is also a member of editorial boards of the leading scientific and technical journals of Russia (such as Energetik, Energoexpert, Energonadzor, etc.).
In 2020, Pavel Ilyushin was invited to join the team of the Distributed Power Generation Association, taking the position of Vice President for Science. It should be noted that the scientist has been cooperating with the Association for many years, making a significant contribution to the organization of research-to-practice conferences, acting as an expert in industry forums and seminars. Since 2014, Pavel Ilyushin is a member of the Expert Council of the Distributed Power Generation — Great Achievements International Award.
Pavel Ilyushin is a scientist, developer, teacher, and a public figure, he holds government awards and honorary titles for fruitful work in all these guises. But certainly, regalia and medals are not his main merit. The best reward for the anniversary celebrant is his work he has been serving to and is serving to now - the industry of distributed power generation, which is successfully developing, despite all the circumstances and difficulties of the present times.
The team of the Distributed Power Generation Association congratulates Pavel Ilyushin on his anniversary and wishes him good health, new professional achievements, and prosperity.
