On October, 28, the Distributed Power Generation Association together with Russian National Committee of CIGRE and Saint-Petersburg Federal State Educational Establishment will hold a scientific and practical conference Own Generation at the Enterprise: Innovative and Non-Standard Technical Solutions, Opportunities for Replicating Effective Projects of the distributed power generation. The event will be held within the business program of the 5th International HEAT&POWER Exhibition in Moscow. The conference will be attended by representatives of leading Russian companies and industry organizations.
Under the transformation of electric power systems, when decentralization of generating capacities is one of the main trends, the distributed power generation is actively developing in Russia. Many industrial enterprises have either already built their own generation to ensure reliable power supply or are considering possible options for putting it into operation.
For the distributed power generation, the issue of switching to domestic technologies is one of the most difficult, even though there are many power equipment manufacturers active in Russia. This is due to the fact that most of them produce low-capacity units (gas powered gensets and gas turbine plants, microturbines) and special technological units. There are fewer manufacturers of equipment of medium capacity, and there is practically no those of large capacity.
Systems of the relay protection and automatics, automatic control of technological processes are to be put into operation simultaneously with the construction of own generation facilities, which requires development of domestic technical solutions corresponding to the modern level, both in hardware and software. When integrating the distributed power generation into distribution networks or internal power supply networks of industrial enterprises, many issues related to their reliability in various conditions, as well as information security issues, must be resolved.
Within the scientific and practical conference, representatives of leading Russian companies and scientific organizations will talk about current developments, results obtained and potential projects.
Denis Urmanov, deputy director of SOVTEST ATE, LLC, will tell about a Russian development — an autonomous gas power plant for operation at low temperatures; Sergey Kovalev, leading researcher at the Institute for Management Problems named for V. Trapeznikov will give a speech on the methods of intelligent management of distributed energy resources based on a digital platform; Alexander Fishov, professor of the Department of Automated Electric Power Systems of the Novosibirsk State Technical University will comment on application of an innovative automation system for implementation of Minigrids. The topical subject of ensuring cybersecurity of cross-platform intelligent electronic devices in the distributed energy management systems will also be brought up within the frames of the conference. Vladimir Zinin, director of Advanced Development Department of the Research and Development Enterprise of General Engineering, KK, will tell about the basic strategy of cybersecurity.
The conference will be moderated by Maksim Zagornov, President of the Distributed Power Generation Association, Business Ambassador of Business Russia and Pavel Ilyushin, Vice-President of the Distributed Power Generation Association, Head of the RNС CIGRE C6 Subcommittee, Pro-rector for Research at FSAEE AVE «PEIAT»
