On April 22, the IX International Online Conference "Risk Management in the Energy Sector 2026" took place – a key international specialized event in the field of energy risk management. The event, organized by the Energy and Finance Institute Foundation with the support of the Ministry of Energy of Russia and the Black Sea Economic Cooperation Organization (BSEC), brought together leading experts from Russia, China, the UAE, Turkey, and other countries.

On April 16, Maxim Zagornov, President of the Distrubuted Power Generation Association, Member of the General Council, Chairman of the Subcommittee on Small-Scale Generation of Business Russia, and Director of the MKS Group of Companies, took part in the All-Russian Meeting held on the sidelines of the 24th Moscow International Energy Forum. The event took place at the President Hotel (Moscow).

On April 9, as part of the business programme of the RENWEX 2026 International Exhibition and Forum, the Distrubuted Power Generation Association held a roundtable titled "Regional Experience and Best Practices: Energy Saving Cases in Green Energy". The session brought together the best projects and practices of recent years – including projects by finalists and winners of the International Award " Distributed power generation – great achievements ".

The RENWEX 2026 International Exhibition and Forum, dedicated to current challenges in the renewable energy sector, is taking place these days in Moscow. Strengthening international cooperation in the field of renewable energy is one of the key objectives of the event, and a significant part of the business program is devoted to this.

In January, the Distributed Power Generation Association summed up the results of 2025, which showed that the distributed generation industry has entered a phase of sustainable growth. Understanding these trends, the Association is launching a new special project — "Forecasts 2026," where we will discuss the future of distributed generation directly with key industry players — representatives of business, science, and industry organizations.

54 projects were included in the XI  International Award “Distributed Power Generation - Great Achievements” short-list. Among the nominees – companies and organizations from 16 regions of Russia. A total of 65 contestants competed for the main contest award – “Golden lightning” statue. Based on the results of the preliminary selection, the organizing committee has formed a shortlist for the 2025 Award. This week, the members of the International Expert Council will begin reviewing the projects. The winners will be announced on December 17 in Moscow.

On September 3, 2025, in Bangkok (Kingdom of Thailand), Distributed Power Generation Association, together with the Corporation for the Development of the Far East and the Arctic, with the support of the Russian Ministry of Energy, held a panel session "The Role of Distributed Generation in Achieving Sustainable Development Goals" at the Asia-Pacific Energy Week. The session focused on the role of distributed energy as an alternative to centralized energy supply, the development of local renewable energy systems and increasing the sustainability of energy supply in remote areas.

Applications are now being accepted for the XI International Award «Distributed Power Generation – Great Achievements». This year, the Award has undergone several changes: for the first time, the prestigious independent industry award will be presented in seven nominations, and the International Expert Council will be supplemented with new names. However, its main goal remains unchanged — to identify the best industry projects of the year, create a platform for sharing experience, and strengthen the potential of the scientific and engineering community.

On September 3, 2025, as part of the Asia-Pacific Energy Week (APEW -2025) Distributed Power Generation Association together with the Corporation for the Development of the Far East, the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (MIPT), and the MKC Group, with the support of the Russian Ministry of Energy and the All-Russian Public Organization Business Russia, will hold a session on the Role of Distributed Generation in Achieving Sustainable Development Goals. The event aims to consolidate at the international level the contribution of distributed generation to the development of remote and isolated territories.

On July 9, 2025, a conference dedicated to the presentation of the report «Global Energy Investments in 2025» was held at Peking University. The event was organized by the International Energy Agency, the Peking University Institute of Energy and the China Energy Foundation. The conference was attended by representatives of the Chinese Government, China's largest energy companies, as well as the expert community and banks. Professor Yang Lei, Vice President of the Institute of Energy at Peking University, chaired the meeting. Russia was represented at the conference by Valery Zhikharev, Vice-President of Distributed Power Generation Association.

Distributed Power Generation Association continues to follow the international experience of energy development. Special attention is paid to China, one of the world's industry leaders. On June 25, a meeting was held in Moscow discussing the topic «Creating conditions for the development of intelligent energy in hard-to-reach and isolated territories». One of the organizers of the event was AO «Corporation for the Development of the Far East and the Arctic». Maxim Zagornov, President of the Distributed Power Generation Association, Director of the Scientific and Technical Center for Autonomous Energy at MIPT, also participated in the meeting.

Considering the growing number of requests related to the availability of energy infrastructure, the Distributed Power Generation Association draws attention to China's experience in ensuring affordable electricity supply and streamlining grid connection procedures. Maxim Zagornov, President of the Distributed Power Generation Association, Director of the MKS Group, Chairman of the Subcommittee on Small Generation of Business Russia, was awarded the Medal for Merits in the Development of the Fuel and Energy Complex (2nd Class). The award order was signed by Sergey Tsivilev, Minister of Energy of the Russian Federation.
